Väntan på {Doom 4} tycks kunna bli betydligt kortare än många nog anat, rapporterar VG247 som citerar en intervju med John Carmack där han antyder att det rent av kan komma att släppas både förr än vi anar men även före {Rage}.
"Well we've got Doom 4 going on right now below our feet here," säger han och fortsätter: "The Doom team are all sped up and working on this technology base - I'm not really at liberty to discuss much about it, but it's going full steam ahead right now."
Carmack avslutar med orden: "It shouldn't take as long to ship as Rage. It's already in the pipeline and we feel good about it."
{Rage} utannonserades redan 2007 medan {Doom 4} inte ens existerar officiellt ännu. Det hindrar dock inte {Doom 4} från att eventuellt kunna släppas före {Rage}, enligt Id Software.
