Studie: Spel gör oss aggressiva
Våldsscener gör hjärnan avtrubbad
Våldsamma scener i TV-spel kan leda oss till att begå aggressiva handlingar. Det, rapporterar BBC, är slutsatsen i en ny amerikansk studie där The National Institutes of Health undersökt 22 pojkar i åldern 14-17 år. Att vid upprepade tillfällen visa upp våldsamma klipp från spel och film gör att hjärnans respons mot våldet minskar.
Men kan detta leda till att vi verkligen begår våldshandlingar? Enligt doktor Jordan Grafman, som hållit i studien, är det så:
"The implications of this include the idea that continued exposure to violent videos will make an adolescent less sensitive to violence, more accepting of violence, and more likely to commit aggressive acts since the emotional component associated with aggression is reduced and normally acts as a brake on aggressive behaviour," berättar Grafman i en ganska lång mening.
Andra är dock inte så övertygade. Professor David Buckingham vid Centre for the Study of Children, Youth and Media säger att avtrubbningen bara handlar om att man blir uttråkad efter ett tag:
"The suggestion is that, over a period of time, people can develop a kind of tolerance to these images - but another word for that is just boredom," säger Buckingham.
"If we are truly interested in violence and aggression, rather than blaming the media for everything wrong in the world, we need to look at what motivates it in real life."
